Upgrading the booking means changing the room category of the booking. One can upgrade or downgrade the booking depending on the number of persons mentioned for the room during the time of making the booking.The system will automatically reflect any additional cost that might be applicable for making the said change. A booking can be upgraded both before check-in of the guest and also post check-in.


One can give a free upgrade for the following cases:

  1. Overbooking in a particular room category due to virtual clubbing of rooms

  2. Room category change/ shifting due to guest in-stay escalation


What is allowed?

  1. Upgrading room category from a standard room to a deluxe room

  2. Upgrading room with lesser occupancy to a room with a greater occupancy


What is not allowed?

  1. Changing room categories for a migrated booking (contact fulfillment team)

  2. Changing room categories for a bulk booking (contact ordering tech team)

  3. Bookings coming from OYO consumer app cannot be upgraded


Process of changing/ upgrading the booking:


STEP 1:  Identify the booking (on the bookings tab/ through search) and go the respective booking details page for which the change/ upgrade needs to be done


STEP 2: Click on the change button, in the room section of the booking detail


STEP 3: Select the room type in which the guest is being upgraded, fill in the extra  and click on upgrade. The room will get upgraded post that after adjusting for the extra tariff displayed in the upgrade section
